North Texas police say officers shoot man with handgun while responding to domestic disturbance

Weatherford police said its officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 2:01 a.m. Saturday at the Cypress View Villas.

WEATHERFORD, Texas — Weatherford police said officers shot a man with a handgun early Saturday morning as officers responded to a domestic disturbance. 

According to police, the officers responded to the domestic disturbance at approximately 2:01 a.m. Saturday at at the Cypress View Villas, located in the 200 block of Atwood Court. A 40-year-old white male with a handgun was shot by the officers, Weatherford police said.

Police did not disclose in their social media post about the shooting whether or not the man pointed the gun at officers or fired any shots.

The man was taken to a hospital in Fort Worth, Weatherford police said, and his condition was unknown as of this writing. No officers were injured in the incident, police said.

The shooting is being investigated by the Texas Rangers.
