Police searching for suspect who violently attacked woman in downtown Dallas

According to police, the woman was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

DALLAS — Police are searching for the suspect who violently attacked a woman in downtown Dallas Thursday, seemingly unprovoked.

The Dallas Police Department said on Thursday, Sept. 12, officers responded to N. Field Street and Main Street to the report of a disturbance around 1:15 p.m.

According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was assaulted at that location, and she was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. However, police did not provide information on her condition.

Shocking video of the attack, provided by Downtown Dallas Inc., shows the suspect come up to the woman, unbeknownst to her, and strike her in the head with a blunt object.

The woman appears to fall to the ground and not move, while the suspect walks across the street as if nothing happened.

According to Dallas PD, the suspect was last seen wearing a long black shirt and long black pants.
