FLOWER MOUND, Texas — The Flower Mound Police Department announced that a person died after they became trapped underneath a lawn mower and water from a nearby pond on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, at about 10:20 a.m. on Monday, the Flower Mound Fire and Police Departments were called out to a large pond near Flower Mound Road and Clearpoint Drive to the report of a person trapped underneath a lawn mower.
Police say a landscaper had been mowing and somehow fell into the water, which was several feet deep.
According to police, a witness called 911 and was unable to get the victim out from under the riding mower.
Police say when fire crews arrived, it took four firefighters to lift the mower and get the victim from underneath it.
According to police, the victim was brought to shore where emergency crews performed CPR and advanced life support interventions.
Soon after their removal from the water, the victim was taken to a local hospital and had regained a pulse and blood pressure, police say.
According to police, the victim was later transferred to another facility Monday evening. However, they died on Tuesday afternoon.
