Third person arrested in deadly McKinney shooting, police say

Two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident earlier this week, McKinney police said in a press conference Tuesday.

MCKINNEY, Texas — A third person, a juvenile, was arrested and charged with murder Wednesday in connection with the fatal shooting of two brothers last week, police say.

Police said on Saturday, Nov. 9, two people, Kajarryawn Mack, 17, and Lamarrya Ransem, 22, sustained gunshot wounds during the incident and were taken to a local hospital. Both died from their injuries, according to police. The victims were siblings, police confirmed.

According to the McKinney Police Department, officers responded to the shooting around 5:50 p.m. near the intersection of Chestnut Street and Colorado Street.

Police on the scene confirmed to WFAA that the shooting occurred in the street and not inside any nearby businesses.

Another juvenile and Roman Miguel Castillo, 21, were arrested in connection with the case earlier this week, police said. According to police, there are no indications of additional suspects.

"Incidents like this are very rare in McKinney," Officer Darryl Saffold told WFAA at the scene. "This is still a very safe community and we take pride in that at the McKinney Police Department. We just want everyone to know that we will investigate this -- turn over every single stone and figure out what happened."

This is a developing story. WFAA will update this article with the latest.
