WISE COUNTY, Texas — Two people were found dead and another was found alive, but injured in a Wise County home Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
According to the Wise County Sheriff's Office (WCSO), deputies responded to a call at a home in the 200 block of County Road 4874 about a welfare concern. The caller said they had not been able to contact one of the residents for several days, police said.
WCSO said deputies knocked on the door and announced their presence, but no one came to the door.
According to WCSO, deputies entered the home and found two people dead. A third person was found injured and taken to the hospital, WCSO said.
The sheriff's office said investigators arrived and began their investigation with assistance from the Texas Rangers.
At this time, WCSO said it does not believe there is a threat to the community.
