PRESCOTTE STOKES III — DALLAS -- President Donald Trump is expected to speak at the National Rifle Association's annual meeting this week in Dallas.

It was confirmed that he will headline the annual NRA-ILA Leadership Forum behind held on May 4 at noon.

“I am honored to welcome President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence to the NRA Convention in Dallas this Friday," Chris W. Cox, NRA-ILA executive director said. "While I’m sure there will be a meltdown on the left, we will be unapologetic in our celebration of American Freedom."

After addressing the NRA's members the past two years at their annual meeting, Trump was not expected to speak this year after he made comments to lawmakers telling them not to fear the NRA. He also suggested that law enforcement officials take guns away from dangerous citizens without following due process.
