Texas workers will be returned $11 million in through new online tool. Here's how to find out if you're owed wages.

DALLAS — There is a new online tool for Texas workers to utilize and check if their employer owes them wages, then be able to claim it. 

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, more than $11 million recovered by its Wage and Hour Division’s Southwest Regional Office – based in Dallas – is set to be returned to more than 15,000 workers. 

Here's how to check if you're eligible for Workers Owed Wages (WOW).

Workers Owed Wages online tool: How to find and claim your unpaid wages

1. Find your unpaid wages: If you think you may have recovered unpaid wages, use the Workers Owed Wages (WOW) application to search and claim them. Click here.

2. How to claim your owed wages: This is a multi-step process. It is laid out on the WOW website here, but here is the breakdown: 

  1. Search for your employer: Enter your employer's name in the WOW application to locate your company.

  2. Verify your name: Search for yourself within the system. WOW will confirm if we have wages owed to you.

  3. Submit contact information: Provide contact details so we can send you the Back Wage Claim Form and instructions.

  4. Upload signed claim form and documents: Check your email for the Back Wage Claim Form (WH-60). Complete and sign it, then create a login.gov account to securely upload your form.

    Include a copy of one of the following to verify your identity:

    • Social Security card
    • Individual Taxpayer Identification (ITIN) card
    • Driver's license or State ID
    • W-2, pay stub or other documentation
  5. Processing and payment: After you submit your Back Wages Claim Form, WHD will process it within approximately six weeks and send you a check for the owed wages.

3. Starting your claim for unpaid wages: Following the steps above, you can start your claim and recover any back pay you're owed. Click here to begin filling out the form.
