TEXAS, USA — The statewide gas price average in Texas dropped to $2.68 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel, which makes the Lone Star State the cheapest in the U.S., according to AAA.
Texas' gas price is 45 cents cheaper than the national average of $3.13, AAA said.
Drivers in El Paso pay the most for gas in the Lone Star State ($2.90), while those in Laredo are paying the least on average ($2.49).
The average in Dallas, according to AAA, is $2.77. The average in Fort Worth-Arlington (this is how AAA breaks up the area) is also $2.67. For the cheapest prices in the DFW area, click here.
“There’s nothing spooky about Texas gas prices this Halloween,” said Daniel Armbruster, AAA Texas spokesperson. “Texas has the lowest gas price average in the country and prices could sink even lower in the days to come.”
