CLIFTON, Texas — Texas isn't exactly known for its mountainous terrain, unless you head far enough southwest.
The Hill Country provides plenty of rolling landscape, and a new ranch property for sale between Dallas and Austin is evidence of just that.
The 282-acre Bosque Mountain Ranch, also known as Round Mountain Ranch, is hitting the market soon, according to Icon Global, the Dallas-based brokerage firm that specializes in ranch sales.
Bosque Mountain Ranch is located about 10 minutes west of Clifton in Bosque County, which sits about an hour and a half south of Dallas and two hours north of Austin.
Icon is touting the property as an "idyllic opportunity for an incredible private family retreat," with nearly 15,000 square feet of living and entertainment space: A 6,900-square-foot house, a 4,200-square-foot pool house, and a 3,550-square-foot living and entertainment space above an equestrian barn.
The main house features two master bedroom suites and two additional bedrooms, while the pool house has a game room, dance floor, full bar and two large bunkrooms with 16 double-sized bunk beds.
The ranch also features a "sports shack" for skeet shooting and a fishing cabin.
The property is marked by a large, wooded hill, giving the ranch its Bosque Mountain name.
While Icon hasn't announced a listing price yet, the property was last appraised by Bosque County officials at more than $2.4 million, according to property tax records.
The Dallas Morning News reported the property belongs to longtime Dallas real estate executive Randy Cooper.
