Texans have a new way to try and get rich quick.
Powerball lottery sales started across the state on Sunday. Texas is the 34th state to sell Powerball tickets in what could be the first step toward a possible national lottery after a partnership with the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game.
The Powerball jackpot winner must guess six numbers the first five between 1-59 and the Powerball number which ranges between 1-39. The current jackpot is estimated at $107 million.
Tickets cost $1 and drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday night at 9:59 p.m. CT.
The Texas Lottery will continue sales of the Texas Lotto ticket with drawings also on Wednesday and Saturday night along with Mega Millions on Tuesdays and Fridays.
