TERRELL, Texas — A 24-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning in Terrell, according to the city's police.
Police said the incident happened the 200 block of westbound Interstate 20.
According to police, officials started getting calls at about 12:40 a.m. from drivers on I-20 about a person who was standing in the roadway.
As officers headed to the scene, officials said they got a call from a driver who said that they had struck a person on the roadway.
Terrell police arrived at the scene and the found the victim dead with "apparent major injuries."
The victim was identified as 24-year-old Otavius Demond Rose. Police said he was taken to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
It's not clear if the driver who allegedly struck Rose will face any charges. WFAA has reached out to confirm.
