WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas — Police have charged a man in connection with his roommate's murder.
According to White Settlement police, Jeffery Cory, 40, admitted to police that he shot his roommate, Erik Fernandez, 43, days prior to calling 911. Cory had gotten into an argument with Fernandez before shooting him.
Friday evening, Cory called 911 to their residence in the 1200 block of Kimbrough Street. He told police that he hadn't seen Fernandez in days, but when officers arrived, they found his body in his bedroom.
The Medical Examiner's Office ruled Fernandez's death a homicide. He had a gunshot wound in his neck and head.
Cory is being held in the Tarrant County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
