Two Fort Worth police officers who were preparing to serve a warrant were injured Tuesday evening after a flash bang device went off by accident, said officer Tamara Valle, a police spokeswoman.
The officers, who are SWAT members, suffered injuries that are not life-threatening. One officer was taken to a hospital in Dallas, Valle said, while the other was taken to a Fort Worth hospital.
The accident happened about 6:30 p.m. at police headquarters on Felix Street. The officers were gathering equipment there before going to serve the warrant. One of the officers was holding the flash bang device when it went off and suffered a hand injury, Valle said.
