Tonya Couch may not have to repay $3,177.93 Tarrant County taxpayers spent to bring her back from California after she fled to Mexico with her son Ethan Couch.
The restitution order was rescinded Monday. Her case has not gone to a grand jury.
District Judge Wayne Salvant ordered Tonya Couch to repay the county after he lowered her bond to $75,000 and placed her on virtual house arrest at her oldest son’s home.
Tonya Couch’s original bond was set at $1 million.
Couch is wearing a GPS monitor and is forbidden to have alcohol.
