FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police say they’re investigating two separate shootings, including one in the area of La Gran Plaza, that left two people dead and two others injured early Saturday.
Officers responded to a shooting call in the 4200 block of South Freeway service road in the area of La Gran Plaza shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.
Three people were taken to a local hospital – one person was pronounced dead at the hospital, one person is expected to survive and the third is believed to have not been shot, but hit by flying debris, police say.
Police say they believe a fight happened there before the shooting and someone fired multiple shots before leaving in a dark-colored pickup truck.
Earlier Saturday, shortly before 2 a.m., police responded to a shooting call in the 1800 block of NE 33rd Street in Fort Worth, and say they found two people with gunshot wounds.
One person was pronounced dead at the hospital and the other is expected to survive, police say.
Investigators say multiple shots were fired at a group there from an unidentified vehicle, hitting the two people, according to police.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the two people who were killed once next of kin is notified.
Both shootings remain under investigation.
