FLOWER MOUND, Texas — Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) announced that the body of the man suspected of drowning in Grapevine Lake was recovered on Tuesday, July 9.
According to the department, searchers have been looking for the man since Sunday evening, when a possible drowning call came in at the lake.
The department says the man reportedly went into the water without a life jacket and as winds picked up, the boat drifted away.
Previously, the department stated that the man and his wife both went into the water. However, they have since stated that it was only the man who entered the water.
According to the department, the multi-day search continued on Tuesday as the Texas Game Warden Underwater Search and Recovery Team joined Tarrant County Game Wardens and the Grapevine Fire Department.
The department says the Dive team used their towable sonar system throughout the day while search crews used side scan sonar, eventually narrowing down the search area and locating the man's body around 4 p.m.
"Our thoughts are with the man's family and loved ones during this difficult time," TPWD said in a statement.
