SOUTHLAKE, Texas — An affidavit provides new details about the leadup to the arrest of a man after a wrong-way crash ended in shots fired in Southlake last month.
The incident, which happened in the area of Southlake Blvd. and Carroll Ave. shortly before 10 a.m. Nov. 22, was a reported wrong-way driver crash that "escalated to an altercation which escalated into shots being fired," officials said. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Police reported the suspect, identified as Sean Jordon, 19, of Colleyville, was seen chasing another man and fired multiple rounds, at which point an officer returned fire before taking cover behind a utility truck and giving commands to Jordan, according to the affidavit.
Jordan initially lay on the ground, got back up on his feet, then moved back down on his stomach as officers approached, according to the affidavit.
Jordan was finally detained on the ground, but while in the backseat of a patrol car, tried to push the door open and tried to kick and bite officers while en route to the Keller Jail, the affidavit states.
Once at the jail, Jordan had to be restrained to a char after he became combative again, according to the affidavit.
The affidavit stated multiple vehicles were involved in the crash, which was described as “severe.”
Police recovered an AK-style rifle next to a gold van, a handgun from the van’s floorboard and bullet casings from the roadway, according to the affidavit.
A manager at Markham Fine Jewelers also said a bullet hit the store's reinforced glass window, but no one was injured.
Police said Jordan was initially arrested on a complaint of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
