Procession for fallen officer Sergeant Billy Randolph makes its way through Fort Worth

The procession stretched from St. Louis Avenue in south Fort Worth to Mount Olivet Funeral Home in north Fort Worth.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A procession for Fort Worth Police Sergeant Billy Randolph, who was hit by an alleged drunk driver and killed on the scene of a crash on Interstate 35W, was held today in Fort Worth. 

The procession started at the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office and ended at Mount Olivet Funeral Home at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13, according to a press release from Fort Worth police. 

The Fort Worth Police Department welcomed residents and fellow officers to pay their respects to Randolph as the procession drove by. The procession took about 25 minutes from start to finish. 

The procession began on St. Louis Avenue before turning west onto Magnolia Avenue. The procession then turned right on Hemphill Street, left at W Lancaster Avenue and right on University Drive. 

The procession continued down Jacksboro Highway and ended on N Sylvania Avenue.

Mount Olivet Funeral Home is located located at 2301 N. Sylvania Ave.

"You are more than welcome to safely park along the route to pay your respects as the escort drives by," the release states. 

Officers are encouraged to park off the street, turn on their lights and stand on the sidewalk as the procession passes to honor Randolph. 

Randolph's celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ Chapel Bible Church, located 3701 Birchman Ave. It is open to the public, but there will be limited seating inside the sanctuary. You can also watch the service live here.

A candlelight vigil will be held to honor Randolph at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at FWPD South Patrol Division, 3501 W. Risinger Rad.
