FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are investigating the death of a woman who was killed Monday morning after she reportedly tried to walk across a freeway, police say.
Officers were dispatched to the accident at about 10:45 a.m. Monday near 3401 U.S. Highway 287, according to police.
The victim was crossing northbound lanes of the highway when she was hit by a pickup truck, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and is cooperating.
