ARLINGTON, Texas — The eastbound lanes of I-20 at Bowman Springs Road in the Arlington area in Tarrant County were closed Wednesday morning because of a crash, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
The roadway was beginning to reopen by about 10 a.m.
Arlington police said they responded to two separate crashes in the eastbound lanes of I-20 near Bowman Springs Road Wednesday morning.
The first two-car crash involved a Hyundai Sonata that rear-ended a Ford Escape shortly after 6 a.m., according to police. The driver of the Escape was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the driver of the Sonata was issued a citation, police say
Then, shortly before 7 a.m., officers responded to a wreck involving a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Rav 4, officials say. The driver of the Corolla was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials.
An Arlington police spokesperson said the crashes aren't believed to be connected.
