Crane goes over North Texas overpass, shutting down highway ramp, police say

Police said the I-20 ramp to 360 was going to be closed until the bridge could be repaired. Drivers were encouraged to seek alternate routes in the area.

ARLINGTON, Texas — UPDATE: According to TxDOT, the on-ramp going from eastbound I-20 to northbound 360 is reopened.

A crash involving a truck that was hauling a crane had an Arlington highway bridge shut down Monday morning, police said.

Police were responding to the crash around 10 a.m. on the eastbound Interstate 20 ramp to northbound Texas 360.

An 18-wheeler that was hauling a crane was involved in the crash, and the crane appeared to fall off the overpass, according to pictures posted by Arlington police. The edge of the bridge also appeared to be damaged by the crash.

Police said the I-20 ramp to 360 was going to be closed until the bridge could be repaired. Drivers were encouraged to seek alternate routes in the area. TxDOT has since announced the ramp has reopened.
