ARLINGTON, Texas — The Tarrant County Sub-Courthouse in Arlington was vandalized on Election Day, police confirmed to WFAA.
The Sub-Courthouse served as an early voting and Election Day polling location. Voting began at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
The Arlington Police Department said officers responded at approximately 12:10 a.m. Tuesday to the Sub-Courthouse for a building alarm. When officers arrived, they found a window had been damaged and someone had spray painted another window, APD said. Photos shared with WFAA showed some of the building's windows busted Tuesday and the message "Free Palestine" was spray painted on it.
Police said they do not have any suspect information and have not made any arrests. Tarrant County Sheriff’s deputies and Tarrant County Constables conducted a sweep and determined no one made entry into the facility, according to county officials.
Tarrant County staff were able to clean up the spray paint and make temporary repairs to the window.
Tarrant Co. Election Administrator Clint Ludwig told WFAA the overnight vandalism at the Arlington Sub-Courthouse will not impact voting and it will remain open as scheduled.
Police detectives are working to review surveillance footage, APD said.
