ARLINGTON, Texas — A 17-year-old was killed in a single-vehicle crash after he was ejected from his car, Arlington police said.

Officers responded to a crash at 9:52 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the 2800 block of North Collins Street, according to a press release from Arlington Police. Officers found a minivan had gone off the roadway and rolled.

The van was traveling at a high rate of speed in the southbound lane when it hit a curb, became airborne and flipped multiple times before landing, witnesses told police.

The driver, a 17-year-old male, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car, police said. He died at the scene, the release states.

"The Arlington Police Department strongly urges everyone to wear a seatbelt anytime they’re in a vehicle and for drivers to obey all posted speed limits," the release states.
