ARLINGTON, Texas — A 41-year-old man died Tuesday, Oct. 1 from his injuries suffered after being hit by a car in September, according to the Arlington Police Department.

Police said in a press release that on Sept. 19, officers responded to the intersection of New York Avenue and Prudence Park after a driver called to report that he hit a pedestrian who stepped in front of his car.

According to police, when officers arrived to the scene, they found the man lying on the ground unconscious. He was taken to the hospital where he later died on Oct. 1.

Police said the man was not using a designated crosswalk when he was attempting to cross the road, and the driver who hit him immediately stopped and rendered aid.

According to police, the driver is not facing any charges related to this incident.

Arlington PD said the man's name will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office.

"The Arlington Police Department wants to remind pedestrians that they should always use designated crosswalks and traffic lights when attempting to cross roadways, especially at night when visibility is reduced," Arlington PD said in the press release.
