The body of a swimmer who went underwater in Lake Waxahachie Saturday evening was recovered Sunday morning.
A city spokeswoman said the man was seen going underwater around 5:40 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses called 911 and “tried unsuccessfully to reach the swimmer,” she said.
Rescue teams searched the water until 10 p.m., but the search was halted by storms.
The search continued at daybreak Sunday morning, and the man’s body was found just before 7 a.m., the spokeswoman said.
The victim has not been identified.
