DALLAS — A person was sent to the hospital after an encounter with a spooked police horse at the State Fair of Texas, fair officials say.
According to DPD, a mounted officer was patrolling the Big Tex Circle around 3 p.m. on Tuesday when his horse was startled. DPD said the officer tried to regain control of the horse, and in the process, the horse injured a fairgoer. The horse then bucked the officer, according to police.
Video from another fairgoer shows the aftermath of the incident.
Dallas Police said both the officer and the injured fairgoer were taken to the hospital.
