Southlake's Carroll High School given the "all clear" after reports of bomb threat, officials say

The school at 800 N White Chapel Blvd. was evacuated Wednesday afternoon as a precaution while authorities investigated.

SOUTHLAKE, Texas — Students and staff at Carroll High School were evacuated Wednesday afternoon after authorities received an anonymous tip of a bomb threat, according to the Southlake Department of Public Safety (Southlake DPS).

The school at 800 N. White Chapel Blvd. was evacuated around 2:30 p.m. as a precaution while authorities investigated the campus.

Just before 4:30 Southlake DPS said the campus had reopened and no issues were found.

During the investigation Southlake Carroll ISD sent WFAA a statement that read:

Carroll High School has been evacuated while the Southlake Police Department investigates a bomb threat to the campus. Students and staff have been safely relocated to the Durham Intermediate School. All media and parents should stay clear of both campuses at this time. We will contact parents when and if they need to pick up their students.

The motive is unclear, but Southlake DPS says the anonymous tip came via Stop It Alert.
