FORT WORTH, Texas — A shelter-in-place has been lifted at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth after police responded to reports of a "suspicious individual" who may have had a gun.
Officials issued the alert just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, asking those on campus to stay indoors and keep their doors locked. By 3:49 p.m., the alert had ended and an all-clear was given when the university said via Facebook that Fort Worth police apprehended a suspect, who was seen near the Nenetta Burton Carter Building, adjacent to the Athletic Field.
Fort Worth police later identified a woman with a partially saved head wearing camouflage as a possible suspect. However, after questioning the woman about the situation, police determined there was not a gun involved in the incident.
It remains unknown if the woman might be facing any charges.
