A North Texas soldier killed in Afghanistan made his final journey on Saturday.
Sergeant Carlos Benitez and two others died when they were attacked by insurgents earlier this month.
Family and friends attended funeral services for Benitez this morning at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Irving.
His body was then escorted to DFW National Cemetery where Sergeant Benitez was buried with full military honors.
This was his third tour in the Middle East -- his first in Afghanistan.
He was 24 years old.
