RICHARDSON, Texas — A North Texas company that can catch you speeding -- and catch the speed on a fastball -- is expanding.

Applied Concepts Inc., which makes radar guns for both police departments and baseball teams, has recently acquired a second facility in Richardson, where the company is headquartered.

Applied Concepts, Inc. produces the line of Stalker Radar products and said in a press release Tuesday that the added facility will "support its growing operations."

Stalker products have been used by police departments and Major League Baseball teams, according to the Applied Concepts website.

"We are excited about this milestone in ACI's journey," Alan Mead, CEO of Applied Concepts, Inc., said in a press release. "This expansion will help us meet increasing demand, introduce new products, and create jobs here in Richardson.”

The company's current offices and headquarters are located at 855 Collins Blvd. in Richardson, just east of U.S. 75. Its expanded facilities are located just adjacent to that property, a spokesperson said.

Applied Concepts makes an array of radar technology products. The company also claims to boast the only handheld sports radar gun on the market that can also pick up spin rate, a newfound element of advanced analytics in baseball.

The new facility was "in response to growing demand" for the Stalker public safety products, including radar guns and radar speed signs, the company said in a statement.
