RICHARDSON, Texas — Nearly two months after a late May storm left tons of debris through the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the City of Richardson says its storm debris clean-up efforts are complete.
"Work was completed two weeks ahead of the previously announced schedule for final round collection," the city said in a news release.
The morning of May 28 severe storms hit DFW bringing with it high winds, downed trees, limbs and brush all around the area, causing a lengthy cleanup process.
At its peak, Oncor had said more than 650,000 customers were without power across North Texas. It was among the worst in its 112-year history in terms of outages.
The City of Richardson said in 47 days, crews collected 4,391 loads totaling 261,468 cubic yards of vegetative debris.
If residents still have storm-related debris that needs to be hauled out of neighborhoods should contact the city about any missed piles.
"Though every effort has been made to collect all storm-related vegetative debris piles, we encourage any resident whose pile was missed to request a BABIC pickup at this time," the city said.

Residents may still see debris in some neighborhood parks. This final step is expected to continue through the end of August.
