DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks and WFAA’s parent company TEGNA announced in September a multi-year media rights agreement that will make WFAA the team's official local broadcast partner.
Under the new deal, all non-nationally televised Mavericks games—70 or more this upcoming season—will be broadcast for free over the air on either WFAA (Ch. 8) or the TEGNA-owned KFAA (Ch. 29).
Of the 70 games mentioned above, 15 or more will be simulcast on WFAA (Ch. 8). Tuesday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies is one of those 15 simulcasted games on WFAA.
As a result, "CMA Country Christmas," "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town" and "High Potential" will not air in their regularly scheduled timeslots on WFAA. Those programs will re-air overnight on WFAA at 1:11 a.m., 2:11 a.m. and 3:11 a.m., respectively.
