DFW AIRPORT -- An American Airlines flight heading to Seattle suffered a mechanical issue and had to make an emergency landing Wednesday night.
Officials say after Flight 438 took off at about 10:51 p.m. from DFW Airport, there was a problem with the compressor stalling, leading to what looked like flames shooting from the aircraft.
The plane turned around and landed back at DFW safely, just 26 minutes after takeoff.
Officials are investigating the Airbus A321. The 130 passengers on board were put up in hotels for the night and will be booked on flights to Seattle Thursday morning.
No injuries were reported.
Several people saw what looked like a plane on fire and posted videos to social media.
