ARLINGTON, Texas — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a pickup truck on Tuesday in the 300 block of W. Division Street in Arlington, police say.

Arlington police say they responded at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to the scene in the 300 block of W. Division Street and found a 48-year-old man lying in the roadway. The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police say. The pedestrian will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.

The man was crawling across Division Street, not using a designated crossing, just before being hit, according to police. It’s unclear why the man was crawling, police say.

The driver of the pickup stopped, called 911, remained at the scene, and is not facing any charges in connection with the crash, police say.

This is a developing story. We'll update this story as additional information becomes available.
