Wednesday's Child Edi wants to be adopted with her 11-year-old brother James: 'Most of my family is just him'

All James and Edi need is a chance and a forever family who will welcome them together with arms wide open.

ARLINGTON, Texas — There's an opportunity to help a sister and brother stay together in a system that often separates siblings.

Today's Wednesday's Child are 14-year-old Edi and her 11-year-old brother James.

It's always a great day when you visit the home of the World Series Champions, the Texas Rangers.

“It’s big, fancy and fun," James said.

He and his sister Edi recently had a guided tour at Globe Life Field. They say they want a home where they feel loved and supported just like the Rangers feel inside their home stadium.

“I learned that the roof weighs 24 million pounds and it opens, and it shuts,” said Edi.

She’s like a sponge. Edi soaks up everything.

"I'm pretty cool. I like music. I like cars. I like basketball," she said.

Edi is bright and multi-talented. She loves to draw her name creatively.

"I like drawing my name a lot because it's 3 letters. Sometimes I draw them capitalized and then I do designs in them and I kind of graffiti style draw them," she told us about her artwork.

Edi sent WFAA pictures of her designs.

Edi is also a great big sister.

“She teaches me things that I don't know. She's nice to me," James said.

“He’s pretty nice and funny. He copies me all the time," said Edi, adding that she doesn’t mind that he emulates everything she does.

Life has thrown James and Edi some curveballs, but if they're together they can face anything.

“That’s very important because I love my brother. Most of my family is just him," she said.

Let that soak in. James and Edi are the only family they have.

“She talks nice about me and she's nice to me. I could talk to her if I'm in a bad mood," said James.

He and Edi want to hit a home run with a family who chooses to love them and not judge them.

“I want them to be nice, well going, pretty laid back a little bit and funny I guess," said Edi.

And don't let James fool you. He might be camera-shy, but he will steal your heart once you get to know him.

"I make people laugh and I'm always nice," he said proudly.

All James and Edi need is a chance and a forever family who will welcome them together with arms wide open.
