Wednesday's Child: 9-year-old Conner to be adopted by family

We're happy to say Conner found them and will soon be adopted!

We have a wonderful update for you. It's about a young boy we featured last September at the Dallas Zoo.

He told us he wanted to find a family who would love and care for him. We're happy to say Conner found them and will soon be adopted!

In September of 2017 at the Dallas Zoo, then 9-year-old Conner told us he believed God was going to help him find his forever family.

“When you pray to Him he does what He can, but you have to choose to let Him help you," Conner told us last September.

Conner was right. This April, Child Protective Services tells us Conner is scheduled to be adopted by a mom, dad and sister.

The family sent us pictures of them and a brief statement that said in part Conner is such a joy to have in their lives and thanked Channel 8 for sharing his story.

They say Conner is a sweet, loving boy who loves his friends, family and pets. He loves riding bikes with his dad, playing board games with the family and reading with his mom. Conner enjoys church and church activities where he is growing strong in his faith.

He also likes attending sporting events and has gone to every TCU football home game. His family says he fits right in and is anxiously awaiting his big adoption day.

Sweet words about a little boy who told us exactly what he needed from a family. “I want a home that loves me as much as they can," he said when we ended our interview nearly six months ago.

The new beginning Conner prayed for is finally coming true, spreading hope for all the children in Texas currently in foster care.

The adoptive mother shared the following response with WFAA:
