DALLAS — For Wednesday's Child 16-year-old Briaunna loves to cook and would love more than anything to have a family to cook with.
Briaunna told WFAA cooking is comforting.
"It's calming and relaxing. I also like trying the food as I go," she said during her cooking adventure with amateur Chef Mike Linstrom. He opened up his home to Briaunna and her advocates to show them how to make delicious gourmet pizza.
"It was fresh and it was like new," said Briaunna. "I didn't know I was gonna get to use a stone to make food. It was good."
Briaunna, who turns 17 in March, wants to be adopted. She is grateful for the advocates helping her to find the perfect ingredients to build a forever family.
"I just want a family that will care about me and care for my needs," she said.
She envisions a family who will roll out the red carpet of love and accept her completely.
"I like K-POP music and I'm very artistic and I like to try new things out of the blue," said Briaunna.
Making pizza made her happy.
"It was fun getting to roll out the dough and putting the bay leaf on the pizza," she said.
For Briaunna, the thought of cooking with a family is like a slice of heaven.
"I would like to hang out with them all the time."
Briaunna's Birthday wish is for a loving family to adopt her, but that's not all.
"There are kids out there who really need families too and it would be nice for them to be adopted as well," she said about the more than seven thousand children waiting to be adopted in Texas according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
Briaunna's kindness, compassion, and tender heart are the perfect ingredients to fill a home with love.
