'I want a family that loves me for who I am': Wednesday's Child 15-year-old Noel hoping for loving forever family ahead of Christmas

Christmas is 15-year-old Noel's favorite holiday and she's hoping the stars will align for her to find a loving forever family this year.

DALLAS — It's only August, but we're already asking for a Christmas miracle.

Tonight's Wednesday's Child likes to be called "Noel." Christmas is her favorite holiday, and she believes the stars will finally align for her this year.

We met up with 15-year-old Noel at the SPCA of Texas.

For Noel, it was puppy love at first sight at the SPCA of Texas Dallas Animal Care Center.
Noel instantly connected with Finn, a Great Dane.

"Please let that Great Dane be my dog," Noel exclaimed as she laid eyes on the gentle giant. "I want to be with him always to help him feel safe."

It was an instant bond with Finn, something Noel desires even more from a forever family.

"My name is Noel and I am looking for a home, and I wish I had a home that loves me," she said.

Noel is strong, beautiful, and comfortable with who she is.

Kimberly Francese is one of Noel's advocates.

"Her nickname is now Noel. She likes that nickname because it's very close to Christmas and Christmas is very close to her birthday," said Francese.

Noel's real name is Kuea, pronounced "Qway-uh." However, she prefers to be called Noel because she says Christmas is always a time of hope.

"Well, it means being with family to me,' she said.

Noel's advocates want her in a home where there is love, understanding and parents who can dedicate a lot of one-on-one attention.

"Noel has a lot of heart. She cares a lot about people and she just wants to make sure she's an advocate not just for herself but for others as well," said Francese, adding that a family that is trauma informed is preferable.

"One-on-one attention and maybe not have children. If she could be the only child so she can get that one-on-one attention," said Francese.

Noel just wants a family who cares and supports her future endeavors. She says she wants to become a veterinarian.

"Animals are my thing and they're actually my coping skill so when I have them they actually make me feel safe," she said.

Noel will not be adopted with Finn because the Great Dane was adopted days after our interview. However, Noel can still  look forward to being adopted herself. It's her Christmas wish and Noel believes in the miracle of Christmas.

"I want a family that loves me for who I am," Noel said.
