'I like to talk' | Wednesday's Child 15-year-old Brandon dreams of a forever home and being a newscaster

WFAA's Chris Sadeghi inspired Brandon to become a newscaster one day just as Brandon's grandmother inspired him to be kind.

GRAPEVINE, Texas — Brandon is outgoing, charming, and patiently waiting for a family to bring him home.

Whether it's bowling, football, basketball, or any sport, 15-year-old Brandon is all in. He says staying active is good for his soul.

"I like to talk. I like to play video games. I also like to play basketball. I like to play football. I'm just really a sporty kind of person," he said during our adventure at Crush It Virtual Sports Lounge in Grapevine.

Brandon has big aspirations to become a television News Reporter. He used to watch News 8 Daybreak on WFAA every morning with his grandparents before he was placed in foster care. They were all big fans of Reporter Chris Sadeghi.

"I always watched him when I was younger. He was funny. "

Then, Brandon looked at the camera and sent Sadeghi a message.

"You were always the person to make me laugh, even when I was in a bad mood.  You're definitely one of my favorite newscasters, if not the best."

Sadeghi inspired Brandon to become a newscaster one day just as Brandon's grandmother inspired him to be kind.

"My grandma used to always say this verse. Do unto others as you wish to do yourself.  It's the Golden Rule. It stuck to my brain," he said.

Brandon wants to be adopted before he ages out of the system when he turns 18. That's only 3 years away. WFAA asked him to describe the kind of family he would like to be adopted by.

"A very chill family. Definitely, a very fun family. I also like to travel," he said adding that road trips are his favorite.

Brandon describes himself as very loving, forgiving, and not picky, especially when it comes to finding a forever family.

"I don't care. I just want to have a loving family."

Brandon is excited about the future and would love to report back one day that he ended up with the perfect family for him.
