Wednesday's Child 14-year-old Sage says her purrfect home includes her pet cat

Sage is ready for high school and for adoptive parents who she hopes will accept her biological grandmother as part of the family.

DALLAS — Today's Wednesday's Child is gifted, intelligent, often shy, and loves to color her hair.

Sage told WFAA she can't wait to share her life and her talents with a loving forever family.

The art of candle making is exciting for 14-year-old Sage who enjoys being artistic. WFAA met Sage at Golden Blk Candle Lounge in Dallas.

She got to use her creativity to design a beautiful candle with the scent of Fruit Loops. She is also incredibly talented and showed us some of the pictures she likes to draw freehand.

"I first started drawing when one of my friends had a birthday and I said I'm gonna draw a card for her so that's when I kind of started drawing at age seven," she said.

Sage also showed us a picture on her phone that she's been creating with her finger.

"Most people use a stylus but I don't know where to find one so I just use my finger," she said.

Sage is gifted. She's been cutting and coloring her own hair since she was 9 years old. Currently, her hair is black, but she shared a picture of the time she dyed part of her hair red. Soon, she'll dye it again for the first day of school.

"I might do the tips of my hair blue. I don't know what the school's rules are so I have to look at that first," she said conscientiously.

Sage has been in and out of foster care her entire life, but the one constant has always been school and learning.

"I'm a theater and art kid so I like theater. I'm really good at math too," she said.

Sage is ready for high school and especially for caring adoptive parents who she hopes will accept her biological grandmother as part of the family.

"I really love my grandma!"

Sage also has a little furry friend named Maggot that she hopes can be part of the adoption package. Which would be absolutely purrfect.

"I have a pet cat and the foster home I'm at right now has dogs. And my cat is good with dogs because my grandma has a dog which is where my cat is at right now," she said.

Sage is ready to meet a forever family who's warm, and loving and will light up her life.

"Just like genuinely care about me I guess," she said.

As Sage and her advocates held up their completed candles, they cheered about their wonderful experience and to the forever family who will one day call Sage "daughter."
