‘I have a sweet heart’: Wednesday’s Child 12-year-old Andrew dreams of a loving forever home

CPS caseworker Jazmin Brooks says Andrew is on the autism spectrum and needs parents who are kind, patient and extraordinarily encouraging.

DALLAS — If you have the heart for children with special needs, we'd like for you to meet a wonderful young man.

His caseworker says he is very chill and calm.

He also loves hamburgers. In fact, he likes them so much, he got the attention of a famous burger joint.

Boy, did we have a box of tricks ready for Wednesday’s Child, 12-year-old Andrew. In-N-Out Burger sent him a box of surprises, including several gift cards.

Safe to say, he was excited.

"Yes! Yes! Now I can buy my own stuff," he yelled out excitedly.

Andrew's CPS caseworker said he is one of the sweetest kids she's ever met.

"He's very chill. That's how I describe him. Calm. He's very kind and loving and nice," said Jazmin Brooks.

"I have a sweet heart. My heart is really sweet," said Andrew, when asked to describe himself.

Brooks says Andrew is on the autism spectrum and needs parents who are kind, patient and extraordinarily encouraging.

"He needs someone that is patient but honestly, he doesn't require much. He's very high functioning. Very smart. I'd like to see him be adopted as soon as possible. There's no reason he should be in foster care still," said Brooks.

"I suffer a lot," said Andrew about not having a loving home.

Andrew's suffering can come to an end if someone reading this makes the choice to love and adopt him.

"He is so nice. He has a great heart," said Brooks.

For more information on how to adopt Andrew, please send all approved home studies to LaQueena Warren at LaQueena.Warren@dfps.texas.gov. Please remember to include Andrew's name within the subject line.
