ARLINGTON, Texas — It's not every day you have the opportunity to get a VIP tour of AT&T Stadium, but it happened for Wednesday’s Child 11-year-old Ahmadrick.
Ahmadrick recently visited the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
"Feels fun and wierd because I've never been here before," he told WFAA when asked to describe how he felt about his special VIP tour.
Ahmadrick got to throw the ball on the field, learned a wealth of facts and figures, and even got to sit inside Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ private suite.
"We went in Jerry Jones office. We came out on the field. We saw his suite. We saw his elevator," said Ahamdrick.
He wore a number 4 jersey proudly during the tour, but there's another jersey he would love to own.
"My favorite player on the Cowboys is CeeDee Lamb," he said.
Ahmadrick has big dreams of playing in the NFL. But it's who he wants in the stands cheering him on that's even more important to him.
"I want to be adopted," he told WFAA.
Jeanne Odle is Ahmadrick's Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).
"He wants a forever home. He wants to feel loved," she said.
Odle has been Ahmadrick's CASA for the last five years. It's the entire time he's been in foster care.
"I pray for a family who understands kids who have been through trauma," she said.
As Ahmadrick looked up at the Dallas Cowboys star at AT&T Stadium, it symbolized what he needs from parents. He needs a family he can look up to and parents who help him to shine like the star that he is.
"He wants so bad to play football. He needs a home that they'll get him into sports. That they make time for him to do the things he enjoys. That would mean the world to me seeing him have that chance," said Odle.
When asked what type of family he hopes will adopt him, Ahmadrick thought for a moment and then answered confidently.
"A sports-like family and a family where I get spoiled," he said.
Ahmadrick wants a forever home where he is loved, cherished, and yes, spoiled and seen.
"He's taught me that if you give me time, if you give me a chance, I'm gonna [sic] fall in love with you. I will," said Odle about what Ahmadrick has taught her over the years.
Ahmadrick will never forget this moment at AT&T Stadium, and he hopes you will never forget him.
He ended by telling WFAA what he hopes to hear from parents one day: "That they love me."
