The Potter's House opens Fort Worth campus

The nearly eight-acre facility is at Woodhaven Boulevard and Bridge Street in a former supermarket.
Hundreds of people attended the grand opening of The Potter's House Fort Worth campus on Sunday.

FORT WORTH Bishop T.D. Jakes' dream of taking his successful Dallas ministry west is now a reality.

Church members gathered Sunday evening for the s dedication of The Potter's House of Fort Worth. The nearly eight-acre campus is at Woodhaven Boulevard and Bridge Street.

The goal of the Potter's House expansion is to be part of the improvements in the Woodhaven neighborhood on the city's east side.

"We want to open up arms to the community and say, 'We're here; we're available' and they're coming," said church spokesman Holloway Gray.

The new sanctuary housed in what was once a Kroger supermarket seats more than 1,000 people.

The Fort Worth campus also has a large youth center. It will feature a hangout called "The Loft," where kids can play pool, enjoy video games, and share their faith.

In addition to its main campus on West Kiest Boulevard in Dallas, The Potter's House also has facilities in Allen and in Denver, Colorado.
