GRAPEVINE, Texas — Grapevine police said a driver died after crashing into a bridge support in the 4200 block of North State Highway 121 near Freeport Parkway Saturday.
Police responded at about 11:45 a.m. after they said a van crossed all lanes of traffic, hit a bridge support to the right of the roadway and caught fire. Officers were unable to pull the driver out of the van, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Grapevine police declined to identify the driver, pending notification of the next of kin.
The northbound lanes of State Highway 121 were temporarily closed as crews investigated the crash.
