DALLAS — A North Texas high school girls basketball team will be unable to participate in any postseason games this season after the University Interscholastic League (UIL) handed out significant penalties to the team and its coaching staff.
On Wednesday, the State Executive Committee of the UIL met in Austin to issue penalties to Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy after the school was found guilty of violations including failure to report known violations in a timely manner or withholding information and recruiting after several students transferred to the charter school.
According to a press release from the UIL, the girls basketball team was issued three years of probation, a one-year suspension from postseason play and a public reprimand.
In addition, the UIL dished out severe penalties to head coach Andrea Robinson and assistant coaches Kadi Creel and Jordan Jones.
According to the press release, each coach was given a two-year suspension from all UIL activities, followed by two years of probation and a public reprimand.
