ENNIS, Texas — A North Texas police officer was taken to a hospital after getting in a crash in Ennis, officials said.
Around Noon Monday, a Palmer Police Department officer was involved in the crash, the department said. The officer and "others involved in the accident" were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but more information about how many people were injured was not released.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this unfortunate event," Palmer police said in a news release. "We are hopeful for their swift recovery and extend our support to their families during this time."
Palmer is just north of Ennis along Interstate 45. It wasn't yet clear what led to the crash, but Palmer police said the Ennis Police Department is investigating the incident.
"As the investigation progresses, we will share further updates as they become available," Palmer police said. "We ask for patience and understanding from the public and the media as details continue to emerge."
