DALLAS — The Dallas Symphony Orchestra named Michelle Miller Burns as its next Ross Perot President and CEO beginning Sept. 23.

The news comes mere months after current president and CEO Kim Noltemy announced her departure from DSO for the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Burns is the current president and CEO of the Minnesota Orchestra since 2018. Previously, she was the Interim CEO and Executive Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Chief Operating Officer at the DSO.

In Minnesota, Burns helped launch a multi-year revenue growth plan, unveiled a new leadership model for the symphony's long-running summer festival, and announced Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård as its 11th music director in September 2023.

“I am so proud of the work that we have done here in Dallas, in our performances and within our community," said DSO music director Fabio Luisi. "I am confident that Michelle will be a great partner to build upon our strengths and bring even more audiences and attention to the Dallas Symphony, further developing our activities for our community and internationally.”
