Missing Nacogdoches 12-year-old girl reunited with family

Nacogdoches Police confirmed there was no evidence that she was in any danger by any other person.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — The missing 12-year-old girl in Nacogdoches at the center of an AMBER Alert has been found safe.

Nacogdoches Police said they have reunited Roselyn Smith with her family as of Thursday evening. They confirmed there was no evidence that she was in any danger by any other person.

She was originally reported missing on the 500 Block of Tangleberry St in Nacogdoches on Thursday morning. Police say she was last seen heading toward the bus stop, but she never showed up to school.

Roselyn was located by a passerby in the Park Street area, who stayed with her until police arrived, Nacogdoches P.D said.

Officials from Nacogdoches P.D said they identified a person of interest who was in the area at the time of Roselyn's disappearance that cooperated with law enforcement. Police were able to confirm he had no involvement in the case, but were able to confirm relevant timeline information which aided the investigation.

"Again, NPD cannot give enough thanks for the cooperation and assistance from the community, both locally and from surrounding counties," Nacogdoches Police Department said.
