MCKINNEY, Texas — A lot of expansion is heading to Medical City McKinney, 105,600 square feet to be exact.

The healthcare facility announced Tuesday that it will be adding two stories to its east tower, as well as expanding and renovating other areas in its $142-million plan.

According to Medical City, this expansion will increase the bed count by 46 across the medical-surgical, step-down and intensive care units. Additionally, the expansion will feature four new operating rooms, a new post-anesthesia care unit and additional space for day surgery.

On the women's healthcare front, Medical City McKinney will renovate and add more labor and delivery, C-section and postpartum suites.

“McKinney is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation and Medical City McKinney is committed to helping meet our region’s need for high-quality healthcare services,” Medical City McKinney CEO Mark Deno said in a press release. “Our hospital has served this community for more than 100 years and expanding and enhancing facilities and services is another reason our community turns to us as the destination of healthcare excellence.”

According to Medical City Healthcare, this expansion project, which is part of its $1.5-billion initiative to make improvements, is set to be completed in 2028.
