MCKINNEY, Texas — The McKinney Police Department is thanking the public’s after a missing 9-year-old girl was found safe Thursday night.
Police were concerned over the girl's whereabouts because she didn’t come home after school Thursday.
Police said the 9-year-old usually walks to her home in the 3500 block of Ginger Court after leaving school, but she never arrived. She was reportedly last seen walking southbound on Highlands Drive at Cedar Elm Drive.
After releasing a school surveillance image and issuing a missing persons report, police said the 9-year-old was located at about 8:30 p.m.
Police said she was safe and being reunited with her family.
